The unfortunate truth is that over 1 million people currently live below the poverty line in Costa Rica. Most of the poor population in the country is situated within rural areas. The farther one goes from the metropolitan areas, the more poverty increases. Along with it, there is a lack of resources, fewer job opportunities and more. As a result - 1 in 3 children are born into severe poverty and more than 40,000 are orphaned. As we make preparations to find avenues into this beautiful country, please keep us in your prayers.
